South Hill is a thriving, rapidly-growing community located in Mecklenburg County in south-central Virginia near the North Carolina state line. It is about halfway between the Atlantic Ocean and the Blue Ridge Mountains and just hours away from Historic Williamsburg and Jamestown, both national landmarks. Lake Gaston, a large reservoir popular with boaters and fisherman, is also a short distance away, along with Lake Rawlings which is the top Scuba Diving location on the East Coast!

Our rehab team in the facility has a diverse caseload with referrals from our affiliated regional hospital. The very large, ACP-equipped gym also includes a fully functioning kitchen, laundry room and bathroom for ADLs. Outdoor gardens surround the facility and are great on the warm sunny days in Southern Virginia. As a PT with RMI, you will have the tools, trainings and support to truly maximize your patient’s abilities and make positive impacts on their lives every day!

This position is best suited for an experienced PT though we encourage new graduates and therapists new to the LTC setting to apply. Ask about our year-long mentorship program that will support your transition ensuring your success. Relocation assistance is available.

As a PT at RMI, you will provide:
  • Gait training to improve ability to walk, climb stairs, and safely complete community ambulation tasks.
  • Assistive devices to improve safety, functional activity tolerance, and efficiency during mobility tasks.
  • Balance re-training to achieve safety in the least restrictive living environment.
  • Functional therapeutic activity training to facilitate safe transfers and maneuverability around obstacles.
  • Modality application to facilitate movement, range of motion, and manage pain and tremors.
  • Assessment/application of specialized equipment such as braces to facilitate proper body alignment, tone management, and pain management.
  • Specialized wound care.
