- Awareness and response to various stimuli, environments, and daily tasks.
- Comprehension of verbal, non-verbal, and written language, symbols, gestures, and/or communication contexts.
- Ability to express needs, thoughts, feelings, emotions, and opinions through verbal and/or non-verbal methods.
- Problem solving, orientation, memory, attention, planning, and organization.
- Specialized equipment such as augmentative devices, speaking valves, and/or auditory/visual aids.
- Oral and pharyngeal muscle strength, activity tolerance, tone, and coordination.
- Swallow maneuvers and techniques.
- Clinical competencies required.
